DigiPEERS at GJAR: Technology with a human face
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, our school hosted an information meeting on the DigiPEERS program, in which we have been active for about a year. We – Katarína Badžanová and Miroslav Prokop from octava – organized the informal meeting together with our mentor in the program, Mgr. Zuzana Petrovská.
The event was attended by teachers and students from Prešov primary and secondary schools, students of our school, and two representatives of the Department of Education, Methodology, Youth and Sport of the Prešov Self-Governing Region. The aim of the meeting was to promote the DigiPEERS program through presentations, sample workshops and discussion with the students and teachers of the participating schools.
We were very pleased with the enriching discussion, during which we all agreed that digital technology should never get ahead of humanity. We also stressed how important it is for young people to have the courage to stand up to hate online. And if they do not have that courage, there are people and organizations ready to help them.
We thank all participants for their interest, active participation and for creating a great atmosphere. It turned out that we are ready to keep spreading the ideas of digital good.
Finally, we also thank the head of our school canteen, Jarmila Rigasová, DiS., for her help, and the headteacher, Mgr. Viera Kundľová, for her address and her support of this program.
