European Day of Languages – September 26
The European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year on September 26 since 2001 on the initiative of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
The general aims of the European Day of Languages are:
- To raise public awareness of the importance of language learning, increasing multilingualism and intercultural understanding.
- To promote the linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe.
- To encourage lifelong language learning in and out of school.
The Foreign Languages Department and the English Department have prepared many interesting activities for the European Day of Languages (Friday, September 26, 2025):
- Visit to the Foreign Language Department of the P. O. Hviezdoslav Library – 1st year
- Language relay – knowledge quizzes about foreign languages – 2nd and 3rd year
- Online quizzes during the long break – prepared by the student council
