This school year, too, we had the chance in our history lesson to see for ourselves that history does not have to stay only in our textbooks. As third-year students, we were transported to the atmosphere of the 1920s, which moved to the rhythm of the Charleston and jazz.
For a while, the art and culture classroom came alive with movement, live music and period elegance. Dressed in the style of the interwar period, we danced, sang, performed short sketches and presented the characteristic features of the era. Musical instruments, jazz music and ornate words all completed the authentic atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties.
This unconventional form of teaching allowed us to better understand the atmosphere of the whole period and experience history "first-hand". At the same time, preparing and performing together helped us get to know each other even better as a class. This history lesson was not only educational but also fun, and it showed us once again that history can be creative, lively and unforgettable.
