Summer Biomimicry Academy with international participation
From July 25 to 30, 2026, the Summer Biomimicry Academy with international participation took place at the Dotek Eco-Center in the picturesque village of Horní Maršov in the Krkonoše Mountains (Czech Republic).
Gymnázium Jána Adama Raymana was represented twice at the event – by Zuzana Dzurišinová and Jana Kobulská. The members of the Biology, Physics and Chemistry subject department had the opportunity to present their knowledge, skills and experience and to work with participants from the Netherlands, Turkey, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
During the academy they gained a wealth of new knowledge and inspiration, which they will use not only in teaching their subjects but also in solving problem-based tasks in competitions and projects and in introducing STEAM education into teaching.
New contacts and the opportunity to exchange experience with colleagues from abroad and with experts in biomimicry and innovative education were also of great value.
At the end of the academy, the participants received the Biomimicry Expert Teacher (BET) certificate, which recognizes the training they completed and motivates them to further develop the use of biomimicry in education.
We thank the organizers for the opportunity to broaden our knowledge and skills, gain new inspiration and experience unforgettable moments in an international team. We believe that the ranks of BETs will grow in the future to include more teachers, not only at our school but also in our district and region.
