From April 24 to 29, 90 students of our school set off on an unforgettable educational trip to sunny Italy. Over several days we discovered places full of history, magnificent architecture, seaside atmosphere and Italian temperament. There was no shortage of sea, laughter, photos or moments we will remember for a long time.
Our first big experience was the island of Capri – the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea. We crossed by ferry to the island, which enchanted every one of us with its views and unique atmosphere. We visited the Gardens of Augustus, the famous Villa San Michele and the picturesque towns of Capri and Anacapri. During a boat trip around the island we admired the rocky cliffs, mysterious caves and crystal-clear sea. Capri has long been a favorite place of artists, writers and Roman emperors – and after this day we fully understood why.
The next day we were welcomed by energetic Naples – a city of narrow streets, bustling life and an unmistakable Italian atmosphere. We admired historical monuments, basilicas and the vibrant city center beneath majestic Vesuvius. Later we moved on to Pompeii, the ancient city buried by a volcanic eruption in 79 AD. Walking among the preserved houses, temples and streets was a fascinating journey back in time and a powerful experience for each of us.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly Rome – the eternal city full of history and monumental landmarks. We saw the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Piazza Navona. Walking through the Holy Doors of the Jubilee Year in the Lateran Basilica, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican was also an extraordinary moment. Besides discovering historical sites, we also enjoyed relaxing by the sea, evenings together, new friendships and many unforgettable moments.
