Mobile App Programming

Club leader: Ing. Ján Lenko

Target group: students in the upper years of the eight-year program and students of the four-year program)

Development of applications for mobile devices on the Android platform. An application for mobile devices published on the Google Play Store, the Android Studio development environment, the Java programming language.

Content:

      • basic concepts of object-oriented programming (inheritance, interfaces, abstract classes, calling methods and functions, design patterns),
      • the life cycle of an Android application,
      • basic information and concepts regarding SQL and NoSQL databases,
      • creating a simple application focused on the basic elements of Android applications – processing user input via a form, validating the information entered and then processing it, creating a more advanced client - server Android application (e.g. a class chat with a noticeboard)
      • implementing communication with Firebase services, working with multimedia, implementing elements commonly found in Android applications
