Festival 4 živlov (Festival of the 4 Elements) national project competition

The final round of the AMAVET Festival 4 živlov (Festival of the Four Elements) took place on 12 June 2026 in Bratislava. At the event, 112 primary and lower-secondary students from all over Slovakia presented their scientific, technical and social science projects, competing with 58 projects.

The competition projects were assessed by a 28-member expert panel made up of scientists, practitioners, young researchers and teachers. The panel evaluated the scientific level, originality and creativity of each project, the quality of the presentation and the competitors' ability to defend their results.

Our school was represented by students of tertia A Martin Čikoš and Jakub Vaňo with the project Measuring and Analyzing the Level of Natural Radiation in the School Environment. Although they did not finish in the top three, their work caught the attention of the expert jury, which praised the high quality of the project, its execution and its presentation.

Taking part in the final round gave the students valuable experience and was proof of their interest in science, research and inquiry beyond their school duties. They also demonstrated the ability to solve problems independently, analyze the data they collected and present the results of their work not only to an expert panel but also to their classmates and the wider public.

We thank Martin and Jakub for representing the school so well and wish them every success in their future science projects.
