On April 14, 2026, members of the student council of Gymnázium Jána Adama Raymana in Prešov went on a field trip to the National Council of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava.
During the visit, they first toured the parliament building and had the opportunity to learn more about how this important state institution works. The program also included attending a session of parliament, where the students watched the proceedings of the National Council live.
This was followed by a meeting with members of the National Council's Committee on Education, Science, Youth, Sport and Tourism. The discussion took place in an open and pleasant atmosphere and focused mainly on topics related to schools, education, youth and sport.
The members of the student council actively joined the conversation, asking questions about how the school system in Slovakia works, about planned changes, and about ways to improve conditions for pupils and students. Several interesting suggestions and opinions on the current state of education and its future direction were raised during the meeting.
The visit to the National Council was a valuable experience for our students. It brought them new knowledge, the chance to talk in person with public figures, and a better understanding of how the legislative body of the Slovak Republic works.
