On November 10, 2025, our school was visited by guests from Ghana.
Dr. Peter Sanful and his doctoral student Gabriella Abakah came to Slovakia from the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana. Their work focuses on hydrobiology and the ecology of aquatic ecosystems, in particular the study of zooplankton.
During their stay, besides their scientific work in the field and in the laboratories of the Department of Ecology at the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences of the University of Prešov, they also gave a lecture in English at our school on the history, culture, traditions, geography and interesting facts about Ghana and on their research.
The lecture was attended by third- and fourth-year students. They were most interested in information about traditions related, for example, to weddings, naming children after the day of the week on which they were born, and the various languages spoken in the country.
We warmly thank our distinguished guests from Ghana and wish them every success in their further work.
