School without hate

In the school year 2019/2020 we joined the first year of the "Škola bez nenávisti" (School without Hate) program, which aims to support schools in preventing hate speech and bullying and in developing the values of tolerance and mutual respect in communication. Participating schools can earn a certificate showing that they meet a quality standard in eight areas important for building a culture of tolerance in schools and for preventing bullying and hateful expressions in communication:

Area 1: Education in human rights and in preventing their violation
Area 2: Strategies for preventing and dealing with bullying at school
Area 3: Strategies for preventing and dealing with intolerance at school
Area 4: Participatory approaches at school
Area 5: Working with class and school identity
Area 6: Space for support and safety in communicating difficulties
Area 7: Support and development of school staff
Area 8: Planning education in human rights and the prevention of their violation

The quality standard is defined as simple goals in these areas, based on the following core principles: participation, a peer approach, breaking taboos, non-stigmatization, building a shared identity, systematic planning and monitoring.
