The main aim of the project was to map the occurrence of European mistletoe (Viscum album L.) on urban trees in selected parts of Prešov and to assess its relationship to selected characteristics of the host trees, especially their species composition, health and crown characteristics.

The field research involved systematic mapping of trees, recording their GPS position, species, basic dendrometric characteristics, health and the intensity of mistletoe infestation. The results showed that mistletoe occurred most often in the middle and upper parts of the tree crown and that a higher number of mistletoe bushes was more common on trees in poorer health. The findings highlighted European mistletoe as an important factor affecting the vitality of urban greenery in Prešov.
