In the school year 2025/2026, we joined the project Kybertímy na SŠ (Cyber Teams at Secondary Schools).
"The project focuses on non-formal education in cyber and information security. Student security teams are being set up at partner schools. Their aim is to educate themselves so that they can educate those around them – from classmates, teachers and parents to pupils at nearby primary schools or kindergartens, seniors and people in day care centers. Members of the secondary school teams are trained in several learning modules, and after successfully completing them, students receive a certificate."

Learning
As part of the project, during the first semester of the school year our students completed a series of ten online meetings with experts from various fields such as media, law, psychology and cybersecurity research. At the end of January 2026, three students took part in the in-person training Experiential Learning Methods.
Teaching others
To share the knowledge we gained, we carried out the following activities:
Presentation at Atrium n.o. (10.12.2025)
The social services facility Atrium n.o. in Prešov obtained funding to buy tablets for its clients. Given our school's long-standing volunteer cooperation with the facility, we were asked to prepare a short informational presentation for seniors on the risks of the online world.
The topic caught the seniors' interest, and they also shared their own experiences with social engineering with us. Thanks to the pleasant atmosphere, the presenters did an excellent job. They had the chance to discover how presenting to a young audience differs from presenting to seniors.

Safer Internet Day (10.2.2026)
The second Tuesday of February each calendar year is Safer Internet Day. We dedicated this day to various activities aimed at raising awareness of a safe online space:
- In the school lobby, we put up a poster on the noticeboard with an overview of the most important tips, as well as "homework" for the day.
- During breaks, a presentation on cybersecurity was shown in the lobby, focusing especially on the passwords we use online. Besides useful information, students also found a QR code in it that took them to a short quiz in Genially, which checked how carefully they had watched the presentation.
- Our reporter Nika from the school media team walked the school corridors asking students questions that tested their knowledge of cybersecurity. How well did our students and teachers answer her questions?
